CID's mission is to teach deaf and hard of hearing children to listen, talk, read and succeed. We partner with families and collaborate with universities, educators and other professionals worldwide to help children communicate to achieve to their fullest potential.
Consultation and In-Services
With early identification laws and the widespread use of digital hearing aids and cochlear implants, more children with hearing loss and deafness are learning to listen and to talk. This doesn’t happen automatically. It requires specialized educational techniques proven to help children use listening and spoken language to succeed in mainstream general educational settings.
CID's goal is to help teachers and school administrative staff members develop effective ways to meet the needs of children with hearing loss and their families. We offer customized consultations and in-services to help public and private schools and school districts seeking to begin or improve listening and spoken language educational programs. An educational support package from CID can also include guided classroom observations at the CID school and administrative consultations (in person or via Skype), customized to meet your professional needs. CID also offers continuing education opportunities, curricula, guides and tests.
CID educational tools are used widely by teachers, SLPs and other professionals who help deaf children acquire listening, speech and spoken language skills.
